*3 bedroom 12/13thC village house with vaulted ceilings, meter thick walls. A spacious kitchen/dining room on the ground floor, this leads into a large & light filled lounge with comfy 3 piece suite. Also on the ground floor is a beautiful airy shower room with another vaulted ceiling, washing machine and tumble dryer. On the 1st floor there are 2 twin bedrooms & a double. There is also a 3rd floor ready to convert into more bedrooms, office, large roof terrace with stunning country views. Dating back over 700 years it once formed part of an ancient Cathar abbey and Bishops palace. Left in ruins by the Inquisition during the 13th century it has been carefully restored to retain as much of the original charm as possible. There is a lovely terrace area with bbq where guests can enjoy drinking the local wine. It is beautifully situated off the village square, just beside the Romanesque church. Car parking space. The village is surrounded by vineyards and the house is moments from the beautiful river, 5mins from Carcassonne.
*2 bedroom stone village cottage with large exposed beams and beautiful thick stone walls. You walk straight into a taste of the Medieval. The ground floor has a large kitchen, dining room that has beautifully built stone walls and large oak beams. Through the remains of an arch there is a spacious shower room and separate toilet. Up the old wooden stairs to the lounge, with oak beams and through into the large, bright double bedroom. From the lounge you go out into a small, private terrace with table, chairs and bbq. There is a 2nd toilet on this floor. Behind a large very old oak door you will venture up the stairs to a beautiful 2nd bedroom that has twin beds. There is another room suitable for a 3rd bedroom, office, roof terrace etc. Just 5mins from Carcassonne, there is a stunning chateau that produces it's own wine, again surrounded by vineyards, a theatre that welcomes international performers.
*1 bedroom village cottage by The Canal du Midi. There is a kitchen/dining room on the ground floor with a fireplace to snuggle around in the winter months. With a spacious kitchen/dining area on the ground floor with a huge wooden beam, leading through to a pretty shower room with toilet. Washing machine & tumble dryer. Up original stone stairs to the airy double bedroom which has beautiful views of the vineyards & hills beyond. To the back of the cottage is the lounge with comfortable large sofa, radio/cd, games & plenty of books.
